Fall Into The Perfect Skincare Regimen

by | Oct 17, 2017

Fall is the season where ‘things change’ – and especially here in Texas, where we seem to transition from a super-sultry and steaming summer to a cold hard winter overnight.  And while things are changing – our skin care routine needs to change a bit too – to adjust with the elements. While it might not ‘feel’ like it outside just yet – Fall is upon us and Winter will be here before you know it; and with it will come colder, windier, dryer weather. What does that mean for your skin? Fend off dry skin:  If your skin starts to dry out, try switching to a gentler, ‘non-soap’ cleanser.  Also, one that doesn’t ‘foam’ – these cleansers don’t irritate the natural pH levels of your skin to the degree that the soap based ones do. Also, don’t forget to rinse completely. Add some antioxidants and moisture:  This is best done with serums. We love SkinCeuticals Vitamin C Serum, as an antioxidant, and also their hydrating serum.  The antioxidant will help protect against the harsher elements of winter, and the hydrating serum will lock in moisture underneath your moisturizer and replenish lost hydration. Trust us, your skin will thank you! Your lips need extra special care: Don’t forget to use a lip balm, like ALL. THE. TIME. This will protect them from becoming dry and chapped in the cooler, windier weather of winter. Don’t forget your sunscreen: Even in the dead of the coldest days, it’s still mandatory that you wear sunscreen. The sun’s rays damage your skin regardless of the temperature – so don’t be fooled by cloudier, cooler days.

DID YOU KNOW?

After a laser treatment, intense moisturizing can help facilitate healing by reducing itching, drying and tightness. It also helps keep new skin cells supple and hydrated.

Skin that has recently undergone any kind of cosmetic procedure should always be protected with a broad spectrum sunscreen to help prevent damage.

Following a cosmetic procedure, skin may be extremely sensitive and tender, which may make the use of your regular skin care products uncomfortable due to irritation and sensitivity issues of your post-op skin.

Post-procedure skin is particularly delicate, so be sure to use skin care products that are gentle and non-irritating.

Following a pre-op and post-op skin care program that involves application of specialized products for cosmetic procedures can help speed up your recovery and improve overall results.
